Vets Come Up Short Against Caledon
The Vets were not able to come up with the victory against Caledon on Tuesday night.

Well the troops came up a little short last night in Caledon against the Bandits losing 6-4 at Mayfield Arena. The Vets played well but not well enough to win on this night. In a defensive battle the Bandits opened the scoring with just 28 seconds left in the opening period giving them a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. The Vets came out with fire in their eyes unloading 3 straight goals...in the first 5 minutes with Connor Early, Mark Hall and Jeff Bret all finding the back of the net to take a 3-1 lead. Just as quickly as the Vets took the lead the Bandits stole it back with 3 straight markers of their own in 2 minutes while the Vets sat 2 men down serving checking from behind penalties. The Bandits would add to their lead early in the third with a short handed marker at 18:25. It wasn't till 6:12 that the Veterans would again find their target on the Powerplay as Bret Snell ripped one past bandits goalie Nick Dimaso to close the score to 5-4. Unfortunately for our Vets a last second shot on the shot clock by the Bandits 32 seconds later would again give the Bandits their 2 goal cushion and that is how it would end at 6-4. Doug Derbyshire, Jeff Bret and Tyler greer all added helpers while hall Bobby Landers and Tyler Sheppard added single assists. Both goalies played well with Garrett Reed playing his first full Jr game for the Vets. The Vets picked up 37 minutes while the host took 43 minutes in the sin bin. The Vets were without the services of Joe Pendleton (previous comittments), Jake Newton (work) and Luke Burke (injury) in this one.
The Vets are next game is at home when they face the Wilmot Wild friday May 24th at 8pm.
